I don't know anything about dirtbikes. :(
Bought it from my coworker, who's goin to be taking me out.
How are 250s as a sumo?

Nice bike Jason. I think Herb, Zman, etc. can answer your last question about a 250 as a Sumo. If I ever decide to try dirtbiking, can I rent/borrow it from you?

Haha sure. I have to try the desert out to learn... my first dirtbiking experiences have been on mx tracks like elsinore and starwest... kinda intimidating and scary.
06 is a nice bike
its a good dirtbike
they had some steering prob but with some diff clamps that can be fixxed
as for summo 250's are fun bikes
easy turn in
hold corners
easy on tires
big tracks you have to re-gear em very low 14/39 and even then you get killed on the straights , but once ya hit the corners its catch up time.
congrats on the bike
if ya need anyting else just lemme know .

Cool tyvm! Do you know anything about warp9s? I can get a SET of their 17" rims for like $500 new. But I don't know about their quality...
If I sumo the bike, how hard is it to convert it back to dirt? A set of wheels and some suspension adjustments? Or do I need like a whole new set of forks and rear shock to swap out?
I ran stock suspension for about a year
I just maxed out all settings he he
as for Warp wheels they are OK quality
I know guys that run there dirt wheels and they say the wheels are good but not to OEM quality
If you have diff wheels , brakes and rotors it takes around half hour to change
it really all depends on how fast you get at it he he

On my CBR i can do both wheels solo in about 40 minutes. With help 20 minutes, depending on how good the help is holding stuff (like my soda) up.

Nice bike! I have the 450 and it hauls ass, cant speak on the 250 but I am sure it is a good product as well.
sometimes my 450 will get loose in the front end at high speed.

Yeah that's actually how I picked this one up for a decent price, my coworker upgraded to the 450. Funny tho, he's kinda large but he still holds up out there really well.
Dirt scares me so much, but i can't wait to ride this thing. I wanted to get a 125 but couldn't find a good deal on one, and i've done crf150x bikes... but those are heavy and suspension stinks... same with TTR125s.
we go to some MX tracks
Elsinore , Starwest and Competetive Edge
come on out with us
you will have fun
plus we all suck at dirt so you don't have to worry about being slow ha ha

The only track I feel comfortable doing is Elsinore's vet track because the jumps are pretty gentle and have table tops. But I only like going on like weekday mornings cause nobody else is there, sometimes pros but they jump over me, and I can do my own thing.
When do you guys go? I'm actually looking to do some desert riding as well, if you guys ever do that let me know!
Elsinore usually Sundays
Tuesday Night - Starwest

StarWest scares me a lot, I havn't ridden it really. I watch from the bleachers, huge jumps. But then again I see little (pro) kids out there on their CRF150s and they tear it up.
I have to keep the bike @<hidden> my bud's house (lives kinda far from me atm) until I move to my new place and have room for all 3 of my babies, after that i wouldn't mind going, you can show me how things are done!
Where do you guys live? My biggest problem is I don't have a truck, and rely on the charity of others.

That bike sucks, it's worth $500 at the most. I've got cash in hand, i'll take it off your hands.
OR
Nice bike. I know this guy named Rudy that raced a 250 as a sumo and got beat all the time...

He lost because his name was Rudy, not because of the bike. =þ

You should say that to him when you meet him. He's a harmless lil' guy.

dirtbikes are so cheap when compared to street...
For my street bike i worked 3 jobs for a whole summer, and 2 jobs for the rest of the school year as a full time student to pay it off and buy my gear.
For this dirt bike i work 4 weeks at my full time job and it's paid for.... not to mention i think imma just use my old street gear for sumo, and i got all the offroad gear already, cept i'm thinkin about tech8 or tech10 boots and a couple different helmets.

I'll make him remember horrible childhood memories of the other kids on the playground poking fun at him for having Rudy for a name. It will make me feel like more of a man.

haha well either way, next time you guys go to the desert PM me or hit me up somehow, I'm really eager to get on it. Havn't even had a chance to ride it yet.
Prev owner even through in another set of plastics.
One thing I'm concerned about... he's over 200 lbs, and i'm a small guy (barely 160)... should i and where should i get the suspension set up?
