I've done the 520 conversion. Other than the opportunity to change your gearing (which can be done with a 530 pitch), the only difference is the weight. I've also heard the 520 doesn't last as long as the 530 but I've put 9000 miles on my 520 and could probably go another 3000 to 5000 more. I'm not concerned about the weight since I'm not a racer but I wanted to change the gearing...the weight difference was just a bonus for me.

weight, which i hear is important since its such a big part of the drivetrain. i mean, the chain is what the engine uses to spin the tire, so the lighter the chain, the less inertia the engine has to use to get the RPMs up. graemlins/bs.gif
actually that, and you get to get a nice gold chain instead of that ugly grey one. oooooooo they come in anodized colors too......like BLUE!! hmmmmmm..........
