Zmoe bought one, so he should give you more info. I saw it in person, pretty decent for $50.

Yeah, it's tough to find BP in the closeout section since they don't change much. You may want to try this, http://www.newenough.com/armor_alpinestars_tech_series_back_protector_page.htm . Don't forget to tell Paul your from SBN :D

I have the 7 plate Teknic BP and so far it seems ok. It definately makes me feel safer when I wear it. I can't say how well it works in a get off since I haven't tested that aspect yet. tongue.gif

One downside is that it doesn't have shoulder straps. Not a big deal, it would just be nice.

If you put it too low, it won't even fit in the suit. I use to put it higher up so it'd be behind my shoulders, and the strap was at the top of me belly. Now I put it a bit lower and it's dead center on my stomach, like a girdle. graemlins/laughing.gif

I've had no problem with it moving. I pull the velcro strap snug, then zip up the suit and that's it. If it's too low, when I move my upper body it shifts on my back, but the lower part stays in place because of the strap. And again, that's only if I put it too low.

Ive got a BOHN and a Kushitani back protector.

The bohn is nice with the shoulder straps that keep it in place but it still rides up when i put the suit on.

The kushi one has plastic plates and a foam backing, and its nice but the Bohn just covers more area like my shoulders.
