Thank you Scott for the opportunity to try out your different lines on my bike. Here are more pictures I've taken: (they're really large, so I'll link them instead of posting them)

The JDM Yellow bulbs illuminate the road very well, even in adverse conditions. The Hyper White bulbs were about even with the stock bulb in this regard. However, the color of the Hyper Whites were more to my liking than stock or JDM Yellow. The Ultra Violets emulated the HID look better than the Hyper Whites.

Given that I ride more often at night, the JDM Yellow are my pick. But if you want to give your bike an appearance closer to that of HID, then the Ultra Violet bulbs are for you.

Thank you again, Scott, for your generosity.

Nicely done. You can see the yellow pretty well, but the picture of how bright the stock lights were gave me a headache for some reason. How much for each bulb?

The prices are listed on their website:

29.95 for the JDM Yellow
24.95 for the Hyper White

(I didn't try out their Ultra Violet)

Not sure what I'm looking at on the last image of each catagory.

Looks like the beam is wider and brighter on the two non-stock bulbs. Are they 40% brighter than stock?

Are the yellow bulbs better for contrasting white markings on the road at night? That's the literature buzz that I'm reading.

Do you the yellows are better at night than stock?

My apologies - I didn't explain the last picture. It was taken with the bike facing a wall 8 feet away. They are a little bit dim/blurry, because I couldn't get a good shot with the digital camera under no flash.

The yellow bulbs are better for seeing the road surface. I don't think the light is brighter than stock. It might be hard to tell from the pictures. Tell you what, let me know if you want to meet up, and I can show you the different headlight bulbs in my bike.

I drive south through Sepulveda Pass on Sepulveda every night. There are no light poles, and it gets pretty dark. So, what I'm interested in is a beam that goes further out on dim. If I use bright, I blind oncoming traffic too much.

Brighter dims that are still street legal are the ticket.

So are the white beam ones you tried in that realm?

The JDM yellows are the new ricer rage. I have a buddy that works at a ricer store/internet rice place and he says that is the hottest thing right now. Hyper GOLDS and HYPER YELLOW...

I agree with Marm here..I like the "look" of the hyper whites. Plus I have to get the hyper whites since I have HID in my car. I want all my lights to match ya know?

But yeah...those golds are all the rage supposedly...

Herb...do we get any sort of "special consideration" if we mention we saw it here or were referred by you? I may purchase some H7s for my car....just curious. The prices are reasonable...but hey had to ask right?

I went to midnight moose and bought some XENON blues..for $7.99!!! With shipping it was like $12!!! How can you beat that? MM was selling them 50% off clearance. But if I can get a decent price from these guys and their bulbs are better quality...why not? Let me know!

The bulbs I tried while riding in inclement weather are the JDM Yellow. Like I stated, you're more than welcome to meet up with me so you can see the different bulbs and how they shine. If you're looking for more lighting down the road, however, maybe you might want to consider extra lighting? Or just ride with your highbeams, oncoming traffic be damned.

I'm not sure if there is any special pricing. I'll ask him, but it'd probably be easier to get a lower price if we get a group-purchase. Hint hint. Nudge nudge. Wink wink.

a group purchase would be great...but would it work since people will all need different bulbs? Personally I would like a set of the Ultra Violets to try out...in H7.
Like I said, I have the xenon whites in my car now...and the violets look cool enough to try out. If not I will most likely purchase them later. He is offering FREE shipping and a FREE LED keychain. I will mention I saw his product here...and maybe he will be interested in being a sponsor? Either way thanks for the heads up!

I just spoke with Scott Brown. He said that their MSRP is $35 for the Hyper White and Ultra Violet bulbs, and $45 for the JDM Yellow bulbs. The prices on the website are $25 / 25 / 30 shipped, respectively. They also offer a 1 year guarantee on the bulbs. For the price, I believe these bulbs are a great deal.

uggg...I was gonna order them RIGHT NOW...but he don't take PAYPAL!!

I have some funds in my Paypal account that I was hoping to use.

I emailed him and asked when and if there will be a PAYPAL option. let's see what he says!

IMO, PayPal isn't fun to use for a business. The service charges add up, and I believe the rate is more than what most CCs charge businesses (except Discover, because they're crazy).

LUMINICBULBS RULE! :yippee:

Ok...I traded a couple of emails with SCOTT..and have to say...they are awesome. He totally and completely accomodated me and provided me with a pay pal option. What a guy. He totally did NOT have to do that..especially for a measely $25 set of bulbs..but man oh man...he did and I ordered right away. Just have to say great find Herb...the company gets a thumbs up for customer service. When I get the bulbs I will place my review as well.

So far so good. Excellent service.

Awesome Irving! Did you end up going with the Ultra Violet?

Awesome Irving! Did you end up going with the Ultra Violet?

yeah...I currently have the Xenon whites already...so the ultra violets looked "different" to me so I thought it would be cool to try. Plus these are only for my DRL only..and my highbeams. My normal lowbeam headlights are factory HID, so...these violets should look cool when I am posing around driving with my parking lights on only.

I hope they look good!
Ultra Violets in H7 baby!

Hi Guys, just need some help with the light bulb choice. Is the blue light bulb brighter or the violet one?I notice that for the blue, it state it is 6000K, and the violet is 5460K right? So tdoes this mean the blue is brighter? Can you notice the 540K difference? Thanks alot guys.

Hey Herbage, so what's your opinion on the brightness between the 2? :D

Marmalade Dad

I haven't tried the blue light bulbs. The violet ones were good, but I liked the yellow ones the best. HTH.

Are the yellow lights street legal???

Marmalade Dad

I don't believe they are (no DOT certification...but let me check on that). But neither are aftermarket exhausts. :)

Nice, the yellow is perfect. But would the their H4's fit my '00 ZX7R? I didn't see it listed under their motorcycle bulbs page. :dunno

Does your 7R use H4 bulbs? Then it will fit.

I'm in Alhambra too. If you want to meet up to try out the yellow or purple, let me know. I have some leftovers from the samples Luminics sent to me.

The 6000K and 5460K are simply indications of the color of the light produced by the bulb, it has nothing to do with the actual brightness of the bulbs. The higher the number the more blue the light appears, the lower the number the more yellow the light appears.

Look architectural lighting class just paid off! :banana

I just made an order with luminics and the website told me i needed H1's for my cbr 929 so i ordered them and they were wrong.. so i called to see which ones i needed and he told me H4's... well the guy who answers the phones was wrong as well. come to find out from other board memebers the bulbs i need are H7's... So other then luminics not knowing what they are talking about they where really nice on the phone and offered me a full refund, on the plus side they have great customer service. But make sure you know what you need before you order.

That's too bad to hear. I can't imagine why they would not know what bulbs your CBR929 needed. I guess they know now... :thumb

probly not.. i sent my H1's in for a refund. found some other bulbs for less then half threw a forum buy :D

i'm not saying there bad or not to use them, just make sure you know what you need. Its got to be hard to remember what bulbs the 1000's of cars and bikes out there use. plus they are the only place with the 100% guaranty.
