Anyone here have experience polishing the lip of their wheels??

I actually finished my wheels but the front didn't come out as clean as the rear. The paint came off the rear wheel nearly perfect while the front left a lot of crap.

My questions is what can I use to remove the leftover crap on the wheel. I say crap because its not really residue and I don't know what to call it. I tried re-spraying the paint stripper but it didn't do much good. Used #000 very fine steel wool and not doing much good.

Maybe sand paper? If so what kind?

Heres a pic to give you an idea of what crap I'm talking about.

Have you tried acetone? That stuff will remove anything paint related.

Use aircraft paint remover available at Pepboys, autozone, kragen and then mothers to polish it. Just takes a long @<hidden>$$ time tho hehehehehe

Works great for me. Just be patient because you'll be polishing it at least 1 every 2 weeks or so.

Thats actually what I used. It took off the paint in the rear perfectly but not the front. I guess maybe I'll tape off the wheel again and try the spray once more but leave it on for a long time.

That stuff is from the powder coating...

You need to bust out the sand paper and get to work..

Start will like 400 grit, then 600,1000,1500,2000 and then get out the power buffer with a buffing pad on it... Then use a red rouge (sh) and forget the mothers... It is crap...

If you really want it to shin, goto http://www.whitediamondpolish.com/ and order a bottle of the polish.. Use the buffer with a new clean pad..

When it is done, it will look like crome if done correct
