Is anyone having trouble with ground clearance on the f4 and f4i.I keep scaping the right fairing and I think my stator cover on the other side touched also but I can't be certain because I crashed and I can't tell by the scratches. I had lots of room on the front tire and it was hooked up all day. My suspension is set stiff so I don't think thats the problem.

I didn't have that problem with my F4i. :dunno

Oh, what PSI are you running on your tires? I had some peg clearce issue, but didn't even come close to scrape my fairings.

raise the rear by adding shims to the shock mount, re-locate the clip-ons under the clamp so you can push the fork tubes down some more and get adjustable rearsets, instant ground clearance....im just sayin'

Stiffen the suspension.

Hang off. More.

Otherwise, check to see if the fairings not loose.

you will scrape foot peg and exhaust before you scrape fairing.

Assuming they weren't bent upward from his previous crash, then yes.

For some really strange reason, I scraped the bottom fairing of my 600RR to hell. With my normal riding, I don't even come close to drag knee/peg or lean the bike that much. The previous owner had the same problem, so he drilled 2 holes and use zip ties to pull the fairing in. I'm doing the samething now. :dunno

He said the suspension is pretty stiff, so that may not be the issue? My first thought was the proper sag adjustment, but doesn't seem to be the case according to the rider :dunno

Only person that I've heard of scraping fairings on the F4i (w/o crashing) is Rich (Insani T) and that was with some crazy lean angle at Pahrump. I think its physical limitation of the bike. I've dragged pegs and mid pipe before case cover and fairing.

The suspension is set up stiff. The rear is raised 4mm and the tire presure is good 32 in front and 38 in rear. I am leaning off as much as i can with knees on ground and pegs scraping. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this being a problem for the f4. If so I might buy a new bike next spring with more ground clearence and lean angle.

The only problem with my F4 is not getting back on the balls of my feet and scraping the boots...Then I have a race fairing not a stock fairing and a custom rear set...

Here is a classic picture of what not to do:

Dragging my toes, and moving off the bike then leaning back to center::

How were they able to catch me so screwed up :confused:confused:confused

As you can see with the new rear set clearance is not a problem is only you ride correctly.

im pretty sure all the f4's scrap their pegs, thats what mine does, however i have never heard of the the fairings scraping, that might be from the accident, but yeah, my pegs always scrape

F4i has ground clearance problems with the stock footpeg position and the stock exhaust. Those need to be relocated for the track. I use the Vortex rearsets and a M4 highmount which solved all issues. As for fairings dragging I've never had that problem but I weigh 138lbs, if you weigh more you most likely will have to respring the rear too.

BTW, it's almost mandatory to respring and revalve the front forks because the stock springs are ridiculously soft (.66) and the bike dives/chatters uncontrollably under hard braking. I'm using .9 straight rate springs on mine which is a bit stiffer for my weight but it has worked out pretty good ;) Check with Stigg for advice on what you should be running.

This exactly the set-up I have on my F4....makes the bike a really sweet handling machine. :D:D
