Hi everyone, :ciao

a CurveUnit member told me you got great smileys, so here I am.
Just kidding... ;)

Since we (me/Jana and my friend/Eli open up a biz together) will move to the Bay Area (most likely South of SF) in March/April 2006 I thought it won't harm to introduce myself beforehand and hopefully make some new friends for some great rides next season.

Got two Kawis, a 2001 ZX12-R which was rebuild into a SP12-R (lighter, faster, all the stuff you need for speed and twisties ) just recently. The 2nd is the 2005 ZX-6R (636).

I guess I can call myself a rather experienced rider, worked my up from small fun machines and crossers to the fastest I could get...(did I mention that I am a little crazy? )

Anyways, English is my 2nd language, I am trying my best to avoid misunderstandings, but if something seems weird - please ask or correct me, I am not into mean posts or demeaning remarks, so please keep that in mind when I am trying to be funny... (have mercy and laugh) :hmm :lol7

I am a martial arts specialist :gfight and bodyguard, after being for way too long in the advertising biz (TV & Online) I finally called it (ad biz) quits and turned my hobby into my profession. Less money, but lots of life quality gained, so I am still very happy about my decision and I got more time to ride.

Hope to get to meet some of you and looking forward to some great rides!
Wishing all of you a crash-free season finish (is there such a thing? We have snow since two days....)!

Take care...

Welcome aboard! Great intro. I don't think we've had any members say that much combined in awhile. :thumb

But what's up with the Kawi-affection?? :hmm

I thought, if I give you the rundown right away I can start joking around right away. :D

Love them ZXes, yup. But not as stock bikes, I changed pretty much everything, can't stop tuning:bash3 , help.

Wait until I am there and check out what I made out of the ZX-12R, I love the tuning potential of those machines. Then again, if somebody drops me a new Yoshi Edition I won't complain. If they don't improve the ZX-10R significantly I will change in a few years, just rebuilt mine.
(www.sp12.com, my tuner, nice stuff)

That is the most important aspect.

Yes, and since then I only meet nice people, best decision that I ever made in my life. :banana

I am a martial arts specialist :gfight and bodyguard...Nice. A lady bodyguard. Very rare. Very rare, indeed. Do you specialize in any particular type of protection? Coorporate? Private? Celeb? Are you a Ronin or do work with a dedicated detail? Do you do "advance" work? In any case, good for you. Doing something you enjoy takes the work out or work.

(finally someone I can relate to, sheesh)

TY, looking forward a lot to learn proper track riding, with our crazy Autobahn I haven't gone yet, but CA :laughing1 speed limits :D will definitely get my butt in gear and hopefully find somebody patient who will help me survive me first track noob day.

Here my poser vid (which helps to understand the Autobahn issue :help and maybe explains my Kawi affinity), ty to Nut'nBitch for hosting it:

I am specialized in corporate protection, protecting celebs is bs, just good for the money. Try to protect someone who wants to be visible at all times, very tiring and very dangerous, celebs are usually the most stupid about following safety rules (well, they simply don't care for what you suggest).
Private, nope, I never felt like being a better armed babysitter :fawkdance for some rich family.

I have now turned to being a full time martial arts instructor, but still open for freelance protection jobs. I just don't know yet, if I will be allowed to do armed services in the US as a foreigner, I will see about that.

(finally someone I can relate to, sheesh)

What do you do that would relate?

Got one for Germany, but only for the time being "on the job", but I don't think that'll help me for CA. Private households are not allowed to carry guns, especially not loaded and/or concealed (the trunk transport from your home to the shooting range and back, weapon and ammo divided).
Only state authorities and security professionals with extra permission get to carry concealed ON the job. No one else. Oh , I forgot, all the Eastern block gangs of course get to carry them as soon as it is dark outside. Just kidding...

Topspeed hit so far: 318 km/h (198 mph)

Yeah CA sucks if it wasn't for the weather, family and friends I would be living in Texas or Montana by now. The irony of it all is that I can carry a pistol anywhere else in the country and in most of the world for my job but not in the one state that I live in.:dunno

what martial arts do you study/teach

I started with NinJutsu, cause I wanted to learn the weapons systems, other than that I did Capoeira, Kickboxing, GracieJiuJitsu, traditional full style TaeKwonDo (I wanted to go the Olympic Games, another long story) and close up combat fighting on German Special Forces Level (GSG9 standard).

The one art that stuck with me is the traditional TaeKwonDo, which is much more than "just" the Olympic points sparring that most school offer. A full system as it was taught by its founder, General Choi Hong Hi, from whom I am just once removed as an instructor (my Grandmaster was one of the chosen few to be taught directly from General Choi). We are one of the very few school networks in todays TKD world who can teach the traditional full contact TKD (which is not just kicking and punching, there are a lot of grappling and close up techniques as well) up to the competiton style that most schools offer. Special interest classes (forms, sparring, HoShinSool, belt specific classes, BlackBelt classes, competiton training, endurance, stretching, traditional aspects and history, etc.) for all levels as well. Interesting stuff, but too much to be written down in the posts, I will be happy to answer questions in person once we have moved, makes more sense.
I quit my sales career to devote myself to the art a 100% of my time and represent the old teachings the way they should be taught, it is our goal to give people a place they feel at home and safe at, where no religion, politics or anything from the "outside world" has any relevance. It is all about team work, self esteem, confidence, respecting one another, courtesy towards other human beings, and many more good things in life that make you a better person.
There is much more to being a good instructor than just being a good martial artist, it is important to learn how to be a great teacher, not as easy as some might think, if you know, what a good instructor needs to be like. I have seen many schools around the world, either from personal travel or through competitons, I have trained with the Korean National Team (never again, the hardest thing I have ever gone through, there is a reason why they are so good at it *g*:notworthy ) at Kyung Hee University, I had the honor to fight some of the best in my weight class of the world.
Now my "active" times are over and I am giving my best to pass on what I was taught (and still will be taught) and what I gained in experience over all those years. I can't wait to see my students excell and enjoy the feeling of their accomplishments and them rising as an individual as well. :)

Just got that one from my Uncle Burt (couldn't find a joke thread and didn't want to waste webspace just for that one li'l joke):

Zero to Two Hundred in Four Seconds!!!

The couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto
for weeks. He wanted a new truck.
She wanted a fast little sports-like car so she could zip through
traffic around town.
He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but
everything she seemed to like was way out of their price range.
"Look !" she said. "I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in
4 seconds or less. My birthday is coming up. You could surprise me."
So, for her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale:D .
Funeral services are pending.

Flap, I was directing that towards Lady Marmalade, do you also answer to that moniker??

I just think it is funny that people you don't even know would answer your initial "hello" threads by saying, welcome and your choice in bike is crap; you should ride what I ride because it is better.

Like you care or something...
