I know this is a no brainer, but somehow I have managed not to figure it out. The right side is done loc tighted and all but I having trouble connecting the linkage that connects from the shift lever to the T shaped bracket. I cant get one side to screw in. I have tried switched the rod around and it still wont work. I thought maybe I was turning it the wrong way, so I tried turning it the other way and I may have screwed up the very first thread Anyone care to make me feel less retarded? If its stipped, could I just tap it out?

Sure you will figure it out. If you don't try some harley davidson tools those always work.

15lb Sledge hammer and vise grips!

The shifter rod linkage threads are REVERSE thread.

I noticed that, but i cant get it to screw in backwards either. From looking at it the threads on one of the bolts with the little joint on it looks like it should be threaded backwards as well, but they are not.

I forgot about that. The late model CBRs have two rods.

I just talked to vortex and they said I should have one heim(sp?) joint that is a left hand thread and 2 that are regular, but I only have 3 regular thread. They said they made a mistake and they are sending me on new heim joint. At least Im not crazy!

Cool, at least it's resolved now.

My GSXR has just one rod and is easy as pie to work on, Hondas are a pain, they make things too complicated.
