I just purchased a '06 636 special edition w/ the tribal markings. What is is difference between the '05 and '06 models?

thank you....
I'm excited about riding; I still haven't picked it up from the dealer yet; they are lower it a couple of inches.

You can manage at 5'7" without needing to lower the bike. What kind of riding experience do you have?

I'm 5'8" and I still have to tip toe on this bike. No major differences. But I did hear that the windscreen got a little taller for visibility.

I can hardly touch on my Tip-toes.
I've been riding for about 23 yrs...
I traded my roadstar 1600 in on this...after doing my research and seeing it in the showroom window, I fell in love w/ it.

First of all, welcome to the forum! I read quite a few of the motorcycle magazines but have not seen anything about the 06 ZX6R. However, I thought that I read something about a change in the FI and ignition?? Don't quote me on it. You can probably do a google and get some more informatin.
Nice bike and enjoy it!!

the paint and the windscreen.
i have read there were no mechanical changes.

Everything that I have read really says nothing about any mechanical changes; so basically the review of the '05 is the expected performance I should be looking at......

So did they include the lowering for free? What was your OTD price? COOL! Welcome aboard.

hell no!! I paid for that as well! I asked them to throw a helmet in w/ the deal and they wouldn't do that either.
So basically i wanted the bike bad enough....the ycame down though $300 on the MRSP. But when you add in all the extra stuff they get you to buy; like the 4 yr extended warranty and a 4 yrs warranty on the tires, you are looikng at a pretty penny.

A 4 year warranty on tires? Extended warranties are a scam if you ask me. Im in the car bizz and thats one of the many ways we pack on $$ in the sale.

That bike is hot. Not a big Kawi fan, but I've heard good things and that bike sure looks mean.

not a big tribal fan but congratulations on your new bike. You should try getting used to the tiptoe thing...lowering it (esp 2"!) really affects the handling of the bike.
kawi is screwing you on the break-in too, LOL...My 600rr break-in instructions (from the manual) were something like "NO full throttle accelerations for first 60 miles", and that was it. I rode it the first day about as hard as I ride it now...
Anyway, just bustin yer balls. Enjoy the ride.
I see the break in period a good thing because it give the you the time to get use to your bike. I bought a 6r about a month ago and I have 250mi on it. I been really busy I did not have time to ride. I follow the sticker and I still have not gone over 4k, well sometimes I will mess up and it will high rev. I use the break in period to get use to the bike. I was told by a elder rider that rides a busy that it takes a person about a 6 months to really know the bike. I believe that.
