I tried asking at another site and most people just flamed my a$$. :fawkdance I know its dangerous, squidly and whatever, but I do want to learn the clutch technique. I've tried the throttle blip, but the RR is just too front heavy to get up that way. By no means am I trying to do a 12 o'clock. Well maybe later. :notworthy
Anywhow, thanks.

Sign up for BW and you can do it on the Wheelie bump all day long. Aaron pulled a nice 12 o'clock one on Sunday on his 600RR. I stopped doing it after three times concentrating on a right-hander ahead.

down 1 up front plus 3 in the rear....good gearing for the track and oh it will wheelie for sure.........and your bike will wheelie without it if need be i can demonstrate your bike's capabilities for you

Thats what i was curious about it. I was hoping the gears would not affect track performance.

It depends on the track that you're on and what you want to do with your bike, low end/mid range/top speed?

Basically just wanna do drifting wheelies out of a turn. :fawkdance
J/k. Def. low end. From about 4-5k on, my bike rips.

For a 600cc bike, that's really low end! :fawkdance But yeah, -1 +3 is pretty popular I guess. I have -1 on the front sprocket, and that's pretty much it for me. I can really feel it pulling at about 10k though :D

600RRs are notorious for not being able to wheelie. the front is just too heavy. but i have wheelied thach's 600RR before.
i can show you the clutch method in person on the next ride. its much easier to show than explain.
if youre gonna change youre gearing, just go -1 in front. then if it really really bothers you on the track (which it prolly wont), you can swap front sprockets in about 15 minutes. no need to buy a new chain or anything.

I want to learn to wheelie as well, I've done it a couple times on a dirt bike.
But I have a EX500 .. I know not exactly a wheelie machine lol... but I would like to learn to wheelie it and I think it's possible, i think I got a little tiny wheelie out of it once...
by a pit bike and learn there
its gonna be alot cheaper to buy and fix then dropping the RR
and yeah the RR is heavy to wheelie
1- front
2 or 3 + in back
you can chop the throttle rev kinda quick let go throttle then gun it
the bike should come right up
now me i use clutch
but like said before easier to teach when seen in person :thumb

it's true. and it looked like you had no problem doing it either. good times.
i want to learn as well, but i'm too afraid of breaking stuff.

it's pretty easy but teaching the clutch method is kinda dangerous...easy to get to much revs and flip it thats why i said regear it.......-1 +3 will actually improve your bike's performance on all of the socal tracks. think about it where are you gonna top out 6th gear? not on any of the tracks. especially with stock gearing, but swap the gearing and you've done 2 things your top end will be a bit lower but you'll get there a hell of alot faster. bike will pull much harder

Cool man, I'll take you up on that. I'm just afraid if I learn, I'll trying to floss like the true stunnas. Maybe its better I don't learn. I still would like to possible do the sprocket mods tho

Another thing to think about on wheelies... Itll land ya in jail too, well at least in AZ it did.

I have a 1000RR and it will come up but it is not as easy as my old 954RR was. I went up 3 teeth in the back and it helped. but it's just not a good stunt bike, and I probably suck. The newer model Honda's are designed to keep the wheels on the ground but where there is a will there is a way.:D

The 600rr will get up by blipping the throttle. You just need to get the rpms up in first chop it then grab a wrist full. It helped me when I moved my hand forward so I can get to wide open quicker. I dont try them anymore (except for maybe off a wheelie bump like @<hidden>) just because Ill be pissed if I wrecked my bike showing off. Zman said it best I think, get used to holding them on a pit bike or even a dirt bike and youll be much more comfy when it comes time to grab the back brake to save yourself.

I never rode a 600rr but I had a gsxr 600...
Popped it up using clutch but it's better to run it at 5000rpm then push down on the fork...at the same time when the fork is in compression give it throttle and it will rebound .... boooyah. wheelie.
....baby steps...baby steps....practice makes wheelies..
if 5000rpm doesn't work try 6000rpm...after that, your on your own.
