Hey guys i was reading about an ignition advancer for my Suzuki GS500, but i also read the part is not longer made... does anyone know where i could find one or maybe if there is another model number or item i can sub to get a bit more power at the lower rpm's ?:confused ?

A ignition advance, by itself, will have very little effect in regards to gaining more power at lower rpms. The fact is that a 500cc engine is just too small to put out a lot of power at any rpm.
A more effective mod is simply to change the gearing. Adding a larger sprocket to the rear, say + 2 teeth, will provide the same increase in torque at the low end that you're after, but more-so. The cost is that that you lose some top-end speed... which typically is not an issue, assuming you don't noramally ride in the top 10% of the bike's speed range.

You won't get what you need from advancing your ignition, without moving to a higher octane gas. If you're willing to do that, the traditional method is to grind a small amount of material off the stops on the stock advance unit. (Much cheaper than buying a 'race' unit) You can then check how far the advance unit is advancing with a timing light and a few extra marks.
