was up everyone.

I am having problems with my bike, 03 r6/15,000 miles. I think it might be the cold weather. Everything goes on, except that the bike is having trouble turning on. there is a clicking sound coming from where the battery is located. I just changed my spark plugs like 2 weeks ago and did an oil change about a month ago.

thanks for your help.

see if you battery cables are loose and then jump that biatch. Battery might be going bad or a bad connection exemplified by the recent weather. Clicking sound is the relay without enough juice to turn the starter.

COLD COLD weather can drop the output of a battery, idaely charge it and it should be okay, if its a reoccuring issue, possible new battery needed or charging system problem, if its a COLD COLD battery and you can jump it and it should be okay.

Other then the recent service work you mentioned, have you actually been riding or has your bike been sitting for a while? Bike batteries have a tendency to run down if not in use for prolonged periods ( i.e. a couple weeks). Could you have left the ignition switch in the on position without the engine running?Sounds like your batt is really low on energy. Lights come, on fuel pump activates, relay triggers, but there's not enough juice to turn the engine over. If you're in a hurry and there's some life in the batt, you could try to push start... Other wise recharge the Batt.

I tried push starting yesterday nite, but that didnt work. My roommate had the same problem with his 05 cbr 600rr. He just pushed the ignition button on and rolled on the throttle kinda hard and the bike turned on. He did that in the garage around 3am and he woke me up telling that he might of messed up the bike. He said there was all this white smoke everywhere. Im guessing he burned some fuel that flooded his engine or something. Should i try this with my bike?

After my tune up, I took my bike up to idyllwild. But i didnt use my bike for four days since it was raining.

Something might be loose if it wont start after bump starting it. Give the bike a full charge, my f4i battery just randomly died on me. I ended up having to replace it.

Clicking sound is either due to a dead battery or a bad starter relay.

I believe you said that you tried recharging the battery already, so that is probably not the culprit unless it is so very dead that it is unable to hold a charge... If it's less than a year old, and you ride regularly, then that's probably not the case.

You can "hotwire" the Starter relay by laying an screwdriver across both terminals on the relay, effectively bypassing it. If the engine cranks over (or starts, if the ignition is turned on) then the relay is the problem. If the engine does not crank over, then the battery is dead. Note, be sure to use an insulated screwdriver handle, so that you don't get shocked... Also, there will be a pop and minor sparking as you make the connection.

I had the same problem a year back, my battery cable had vibrated off and wasn't making a full connection. Tightened it up and all was good.

Update: I got the bike started. I pushed the ignition and rolled on the throttle for no more than 5 seconds and the stubborn bike started. Hopefully I didnt mess anything up, cause i rolled on that throttle pretty hard. But so far no problems at all, and that was about a week ago.

Thanks for all your advise everyone.
