was up everyone. I had my bike on the rear stand today, and I noticed that when I put in the clutch and pop it into first gear. The rear wheel begins to spin. My roommate's bike doesnt do that. I hope that my clutch isnt messed up.
and another thing. My bike shut off today when i was rolling to a stop sign. I have no idea what's going on. Help anyone!!!
Oh yea. I have a 03 r6 16.5k miles on it.
Thanks in advance

it may be time for a new clutch.not really a big deal......have you tired to re-adjust it?

I adjusted the play on the clutch, that's about it.
Is it normal for the wheel to spin if the clutch is in ?
any good places i could purchase a clutch kit for a reasonable price?

my tire spins a little when clutched and put into gear. I'm sure that new plates may be in order, but it isn't so bad yet.

Yes, when the oil is cold and not as free flowing it creates some stiction and transfers some power between the clutch and flywheel causing the wheel spin. It is normal.
Edit: If you need new clutch plates you will notice the clutch slipping meaning the plates will lose grip and cause the rpms to suddenly jump up for no reason, you will know it ;-) The condition that you describe is normal and is not due to clutch wear or malfunction.

Your clutch does not sound to be adjusted correctly. It should not spin with the revolutions while the clutch is disengaged.

+1, its normal...nothin to worry about, once you engage into gear with the clutch pressed, there's a little force that will turn your wheels particularly if its on rear stand; but not enough to push the bike...unless you start to feel some slippage in your clutch then its time for a new one...

i was not really clear...but yes if its on a stand the rear wheel will spin, as has already been explained. i assumed it stalled on you as you came to a stop with clutch lever pulled, meaning the clutch did not engage completely and the motor bogged until it stalled. clutches are tricky because we get used to them as they wear out, and don't notice the wear until it starts to slip.....if you got on a brand new r-6 and felt the clutch you would notice a difference.
nothing is wrong, i think the clutch is getting worn. start saving money and plan on changing a clutch in the future.
