You want to stand on the left, grab under the rear fender/subframe, hoist it on top of the stand with your hip (the stand being on the right of the bike). Not as easy as it looks, but easy once you get the hang of it.. Thats why i recommended the lift stand like me and wayne have.

Can I borrow your lift stand? :D
I have a Rhino stand, just push it under the engine/pegs, and step on the foot tab.
Presto, it's up (the bike that is)! :D
ha ha
My buddy did the same thing as Herb
Bought the box type stand "non adjustable" and after a day at Grange suffering
he went and bought a Lift type stand
Ohhh how much better it is then lifting that damm heavy bike :D
I also use the Rhino stand
way better quality then the cheaper versions

A buddy of mine uses the Excel. Its bigger, but it gets the job done. No idea how long hes had it, so I cant speak to its reliability. I got the Rhino stand too. sometimes you can find them on sale at CycleGear. I got mine for like 80, and if they ever break, Cycle Gear will replace it.

Thanks for the input RJohn.
Herb, get a Rocky Mountain catalog, it has loads of stuff for dirt bikes.
Our KTMs are basically the same as the KTM dirt bikes and use the same parts, a/m goodies, etc.....

Rocky Mtn? I'll look into that.
Any chance the 525 motor can be swapped into a 450? :evilgrin

No need to swap, the engines are exactly the same except for bore, stroke and piston.
Just need to get a big bore kit and you're there. The big bore kit is a 560 I believe and I know some folks who have converted their 450s to 560s.
